Help Editing/Merging Facebook Contacts

Hey guys.

I'm currently a bit frustrated. When I downloaded the facebook app, it automatically imported my contacts. That's awesome.

Now, I'm trying to go back and edit those without phone numbers to add some in. However, it says that it is not available on the device. So, I had to go in and create a duplicate contact. Is there any easy way to add phone numbers to those without them within my FB contacts?

It looks like people have been fighting this one for some time...the best thing I can find with a quick search is here:

And that one's by no means pretty. Another suggestion is to add a different Phonebook app that's supposed to do a better job of merging things and allowing for editing. This is the one people point to:

Yes in order to add information you have to have the contact in your Google Contacts, then you can "join" the contacts by going into the contact, selecting "edit", press the menu button and select "join", then you select the contact you want to merge
