Help Email addresses not syncing from phone to Gmail???

I have my contacts set up to always sync with gmail. However, I have noticed lately that when I enter an email address into my contacts on my Dinc it does not sync with gmail. All of the other info in contacts syncs from the phone to gmail just the email address is missing. Anyone have any ideas on why this is happening? Thanks
