Help Email Compose Font Size

Hi

I've had my S2 now for about 6 weeks and have mixed feelings about it after being a Blackberry man for several years.

My main issue is the HUGE font size when composing an email in either gmail or standard email applications.

It makes it very hard to compose a decent email, my old Blackberry Bold 9700 has a screen a third of the size however I can get 10 times as much text on the screen when composing an email or text.

Also if you turn the phone to landscape mode you can't really type an email or text as the screen is totally taken up by the keyboard and the composing area is about 1/2 a line of text high!

Being a business user being able to construct good quality emails on the move is critical so unless someone has a solution I'll have to return to my old Blackberry!

Can the default font size be changed? That includes standard app text size? I feel the font size is just too big in most apps but especially when composing.

I'm gutted as feel I've made a mistake taking on the S2 and will now have to return to my old Blackberry or wait and see if the iPhone5 is any good.

same sort of problem i had before. but there is a simple fix for that.

open up your mail app --> menu (bottom left) button --> more --> font size

for gmail --> menu button --> more --> settings --> message text size

for texting --> menu button --> settings --> message font size

hope this helps and the S2 is a great phone :) stick with it!

It's not the reading font size I have a huge problem with it's the composing font size which can't be changed.

On my Blackberry 9700 Bold I can get 20 lines of text on the screen when composing an email. Also I can get 54 characters across the width of the screen.

On the Galaxy S2 in GMAIL I can only get 10 lines of text and with the font being so big that's not actually that many characters (29 to be precise). In the standard email app it's a little better but still not great.

On my BB I have my font size set to 5 (the smallest) which I understand for some people might be too small but I have good eye sight and what's most important is getting lots of information on the screen and for it to be nicely viewable. I was hoping with the HUGE S2 screen it would be amazing but it's the opposite!

So I guess no one has an answer, I'm amazed this isn't driving other people crazy!

I'll give it 7 days to find an answer otherwise I'll be sending my Galaxy S2 to Mazuma or one of the recycling places and getting

Hi man,

i have exactly same problem as an old BB user. Got my Galaxy s2 last week. Did you find a solution already.

pleased to hear,
cheers

One of our users has an SGS2 and actually wants the font size to be larger while composing. We want him to use our Exchange server (thus the native SGS2 e-mail client).

Kind of the same issue, except in this thread users want to be smaller! Just being able to specify size would be great, larger or smaller!

Any tweaks or help would be great.

Does anyone know if Moxier or Mail Droid Pro allows users to alter the font size while composing as well as reading?

* I think we can all agree that changing the entire system font size is not going to satisfy users. I have read that as a suggestion in some other forums.

Bump!

Perhaps this is changed in the Samsung mail app on ICS?

Does anyone with an ICS enabled device know if they can increase or decrease the size of the font while they're composing an email?
