Email from HTC regarding Sense

I was on the website and inquired about the use of the HTC sense online site for the Thunderbolt. Here was my email

Dear ****,

I understand how important it can be to utilize the HTC Sense.com website with your Verizon Thunderbolt. Currently HTC Sense.com is only used with HTC Desire Z and HTC Desire HD. Other phones may be supported in the future, but we currently do not have a schedule for the rollout. Please keep updated at HTC Mobile Phones - Product Support - Smartphones Help to receive information on the Thunderbolt being supported by HTC Sense.

Sincerely,

Yeah...that person is wrong. You can tell this quickly by going to htcsense.com and seeing the other phones supported for yourself...including the recently added Inspire 4G. Some support folks aren't reading from the updated script yet. Those in the know will admit that the t-bolt was supposed to be supported and will be added soon. So keep checking fwiw!

sense.com doesn't even work. i've been trying to use it for weeks now and NOTHING updates, the GPS doesn't work, and you can't make the phone ring or anything. it's kind of crappy and everybody is having problems wtih it.

Yep, that's what I've heard also. And, when asked, htc will tell you they make no claims about the service since it's in beta only. So, seems to be all bets are off with what it will add to any experience with the t-bolt. And yet it is still advertised as a cool feature for the newest smartphones (like Inspire and T-bolt), so something may be good about it when it matures.

Just curious...what phone did you use it with?

Yeah, the online Sense portal has been pretty disappointing so far. For such an advertised feature you would think getting it operating properly would be a priority.

You can pick up Lookout in the app store and get some of the same functionality as Sense (location and remote ringing). There is a basic free version and more feature rich paid version.
