Help Email Icon - Galaxy S3

I have a Galaxy S3, the Email Icon on the Home Screen is showing the number 82 and not moving. What is causing this and why it is not fluctuating?

I am not at all sure why that number remains constant as you must be reading your emails regularly. I am stumped on this one. Have you called the service provider troubleshooting department. I am sure it is some simple setting that we are just overlooking.
 
having similar sort of problems with the emails on the S3...its a pain in the a$$

make sure both options are set to push..scheduling shouldnt matter
