email like blackberry

this may already have been discussed, but i just recently switched from a blackberry bold to a samsung galaxy s2. i love everything about the phone except for the email. i liked the option blackberry gave you to either delete off the phone or the server. right now all i see with the droid is a setup in the email account where it will delete from server or it wont delete from the server. this is not convenient when on the road. is there an application that gives me this choice still, or is this the best droid can come up with on a 500 dollar phone?

As good as android is, Blackberry is still #1 in regards to email. That being said, if you delete an email from your device, it SHOULD delete from the server as well.

A market app such as K9 mail will give you more options than the OEM email app.

i just want to simply have the choice to delete from phone or the server. unless k9 can offer me that feature, ill stick to the email that came with the phone.

I just switched from BB to the Galaxy too and I was worried about the email but this is what I googled and fixed it on my hotmail acct.

Go to your email inbox on your device. Hit the menu button, then account settings, scroll down a little and hit "incoming settings", then near the bottom you'll see "delete email from server", with a menu option directly below it

I think some of you are missing the point. I've had this same issue.
I don't want a global setting to either keep or delete from the server. I want an email by email option...
This is because some emails I want left on the server to deal with on my laptop later. Yet, I want to also be able to delete certain ones so as to keep them from also showing up on my laptop later - which means I end up going through emails I don't want a second time, which is a real pain.
Blackberry would give me 3 choices when I hit the delete key on an email: delete from phone, delete from server & phone, or cancel.
I miss that flexibility the most.
But if anyone has heard of an app that does that for droid, please let me know!

Gmail has a starring option, which is a great way to read emails and then keep them tagged for "coming back" later under a separate category. Not really a solution, but in case that might help with a situation you described.
