I have a HTC Hero and I have been trying to set up my school email on my phone. There is another thread about my school's email but they never really said how they figured it out. They only have detailed directions for Iphone. These are the directions they have for general set up. I have tried it all but I just can't seem to get it to work. It says "cannot connect to server".
Use the following settings to check your MIX e-mail using the IMAP-capable client of your choice. When configuring your mail client from the examples below, please substitute your own MIX user name, e-mail address, and password (PIN) where noted.
General Settings
Connection/Account Type: IMAP
Account Name: username@mix.wvu.edu
Email Address: username@mix.wvu.edu (your complete MIX e-mail address)
Reply-To: username@mix.wvu.edu
Incoming Mail Server Settings
Server/Connection Type: IMAP
Host Name: mix.wvu.edu
User Name/Login: username (your MIX login user name only)
Password: ****** (your MIX password/PIN)
WVU Offers SMTP using your MasterID and password
Server name: exsmtp.wvu.edu
Port: 465
Use SSL (Secure Sockets Layer)
Use your MasterID. When your MasterID expires you will also need to update your phone.
