Email notification missing

Hi - has anyone's email notification stopped working? The envelope that usually appears in the notification bar doesn't show anymore, but when I look at my mail shortcut on the homescreen, it shows the green circle with the number of new emails. Did I accidentally change something or do you think it's a bug?

happened to me and i realized that it was because everytime i ran my task killer it would kill my email app and it would not be running! i excluded it from the list and now everything is gravy!

Anybody have other ideas for this one?

If it's not a setting in the phone or the email account, then is it a software problem?

SOLVED:

Talked to an HTC tech and he said to delete all the email accounts and clear/delete the cache/all data and restart the phone. That worked, it's just a little tedious if you have a lot email accounts.

I also tried to pry some 2.1 info out of him, but no luck. It seems like they only find out a few hours before we do. I’m looking forward to 3.0 – that way maybe 2.1 will come faster...
