I've had a Galaxy Nexus (through Bell Canada) for about a month. It runs ICS 4.0.1. Last night I noticed that the email notification for my Exchange account wasn't working. I made some obvious checks but didn't find anything wrong, so I powered down the phone and after the reboot it appeared to be working again. Today the same thing happened, but even after a power cycle I can't get email notification working. I've tried deleting the Exchange account but that didn't help. I've tried turning off the notification setting, and then turning it back on. Still no go.
As far as I remember, I didn't make any changes that would have affected email. At this point I'm stumped. I've read some other threads on this topic and none seem to apply to my case. One solution someone tried was to reinstall Android. I'm willing to attempt that although I'm not that familiar with Android/ICS.
Is there anything less drastic I should try? Is it worth trying the factory data reset?
