Help Email notification sound setting question

Is there a way to use a specific new sound effect for email settings? It looks initially like the notification sound covers everything.

Twidroid handles my twitter sound effect, but I'd like a unique sound for facebook messages, and also for emails, and generic system notifications.

You should be able to go into the individual applications and set the notification sound. There are also a number of apps that can do this for you, allowing even more customization.

I have a new email sound, but it does not show up in the list of available sounds I can use for k9.

Edit. Found a market app that handled it for me. I mistakenly thought a notification sound was a blanket one for everything, not realizing each is actually unique notification with its own setting. 8/
