Is there any way to have my EVO notify me as an email comes in?

I have noticed that I will check my email on my computer and see that I have 2 new email messages from earlier in the day, however when I look down at my phone it is not notifying me at all of these messages. I have to open the mail, and then hit "refresh" before those 2 messages appear in my inbox on my EVO.

How can I set it up so that my phone beeps or flashes or notifies me somehow the moment an email comes in. It is frustrating sometimes when I am waiting for an email to arrive and I have to hit "refresh" every minute, or it will not show up in the inbox.

Also...my email notifications, notification sound and notification vibrate are all checked as well.

Go to the email app->Menu->More->Settings->Send&Receive->Set Download Frequency and make sure that it isn't set to Manual. You can pick whatever interval you'd like.

If you want near-instant notification and receipt of email, you can use gMail.

Yes, I have the frequency set at "as items arrive"

Text messaging and my Outlook calendar meeting reminders work fine and notify with a beep and vibrate instantly.

I have to use Outlook exchange email, as this is a corporate email address through my work.

Oh, sorry, you didn't mention you were using Exchange. I hope someone else can help you with that, I've never used Exchange.
