Help Email "Rubbish" folder

Anyone able to shed light on how to permanently delete old email from the rubbish folder please?

You delete a message out of your Inbox and it goes to Trash/ bin folder. Menu>View Labels>Trash/Bin and in there just mark the messages you want to permanently delete and delete them.

Once you do that you might have to sync it for it to appear the same in either the phone or on the PC when you log into your gmail account.

Are those Droid options perhaps?

The only commands on my Milestone are:

  • Refresh
  • Compose
  • Folders
  • Accounts
  • Account settings
None of these has a global option and I don't fancy clicking on all 1618 items I currently have in the Rubbish folder

I have a Milestone not a Droid and my options in GMail are: Refresh, Compose, Accounts, View Labels, Search, Settings.

Are you sure you are using the Google Mail application and not the Email application?
