Email Syncing

Hi guys not sure if this has been asked before but my samsung s2 keeps syncing email via push - as soon as i get an email i get a notification and this is really dtraining my battery. I have turned off background data and unsynced my email but it still does it - any ideas ?thanks - any help would be much appreciated

Check settings for accounts (sync frequency etc.) Maybe that needs to be changed.

or go to account and sync and turn off sync for that particular account. usually its the opposite, people wanting sync instead of not
