Help Email vibration length

jas511

Lurker
I have setup my galaxy s2 to connect to my exchange server. When I receive an email, the phone vibrates once very quickly. This is unlike when I use the gmail app when it is a long vibration. Is there any way to change the length or pattern of vibration for either the default mail app or gmail app?

Hi jas511 - Welcome to Android Forums.

I have looked and didn't see any info on this being able to be changed, unfortunately.

I was wondering this exact same thing. We just recently deployed some gsII's as our work phones (phasing out the BB's). I have them synced up with the exchange server with no issues. The vibration notification for the default email app is very very short. Like too short. I do not see an option to change the length or pattern of this vibration. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I know on some apps, like SMS or gmail, you can modify this within the actual app. But I do not see this for the default email app. Maybe there is any app out there that lets you control the vibration notification for each app? Thank in advance.

Thanks for checking into this. I've found a variety of apps (NoLED, MissedMessages) that help, and I may just write my own for my personal needs.

Thanks,
Jeff

Thanks you are probably correct on this about Tasker, but I'd like to sharpen my android development skills. Appreciate the help.
