How To Email Workaround for great funtionality

yeah its checking every 30-60mins today , i need it to be faster, how do i activate the old e-mail app? just shut off email sync?

The gmail app is checking your pop3 email and then pushing it to your phone. The problem is you need to get a lot of email for it to keep checking often.

If gmail checks your pop3 account and finds an email it will recheck it fairly soon (not sure what the time is) but if it doesn't find any it will not check again for 30 min.

It does work great, just don't expect to get your pop3 email fast. I just forwarded my pop3 address to my gmail address, then I set gmail to respond using my pop3 address, it's really fast that way.

This makes sense to me. I have noticed the more email i have the more frequently it checks. Maybe its a way of preserving bandwidth. During the week it was checking every 2-4 min.

I think you need to set it up in the other email program and then cancel your pop3 account in gmail.

I am going to try forwarding my mail from my server to gmail to see if that speeds it up since it wont be check but receiving instead.

I am forwarding mail from my mail server to my gmail account and canceled gmail checking my mail server for mail. Incoming mail is now almost instantaneous and random. I think this is a good fix for Gmail's untimely checking of 3rd party mail.

on my droid I have two email accounts. the time warner account works fine and is my main account. the gmail account receives mail but shows a "connection error" when I try to send. Any suggestions??
