Help Email

Hello and good morning all. I have had my EVO 4G for just a few days and I LOVE it!

I have one small thing that I need assistance with.

When I set up my phone, I use the email client to set up my gmail account and then also noticed that it came with the gmail app already. So I receive two new email notifications when receiving mail.

If I delete the account I created using the email client, then I cannot email pictures and videos form my phone without going into the gmail app, attaching and so on.

I cannot seem to delete the gmail app so I tried :deactivating" it and then went to set up my email with the phone email client and it cannot authenticate my log in information.

I have no idea what to do. Ideas?

Thanks

The gmail client is also part of the phone registration process so deactivating it will make it difficult to authenticate some processes. I would leave the gmail app active and remove the gmail account in the mail app.

If you are emailing photos and videos through gmail anyway, I don't see the difference whether you do it through the email app or the gmail app? maybe i'm missing something.

If i take a photo and want to share from the camera, I cannot without the mail client activated. I would have to leave the camera, move over to gmail app, create message and attach. Just a few more steps.

I'm moving this to the EVO 4G forum where other EVO users can get to see the thread. I know on my phones i can either share directly from the camera app or it takes me to the gallery to share, and the gmail app is always a sharing option.

I'm sure one of the many EVO users here can help you work it out.
