IIRC, standby time is calculated with all extras turned off. I'm guessing that means that everything the battery page doesn't list as "Android system," "Cell standby," and "Phone idle" would have to be shut down. I could see the phone lasting 6 days that way.
The original iPhone also got roughly 4-5 hours of battery life.
I would definitely expect that standby time is calculated with all extras turned off. However, we're not asking for 6 days standby. I want one day with heavy use or idle. It doesn't go passed 8 hours before I have to charge it. (I guess I'm doing well compared to the masses
[/QUOTE]I seriously want to know how HTC tested the DI battery life in the field. Did they say, "Ok, the average person will find an outlet within 3 hours, so looks like we're good!"
All phone manufacturers should consider having a full day of heavy use as the target for battery life.
I talked 40 min on my phone today, used GPS for 20 min and that's it...and battery was down to 50% after stating from 100% full charge. I don't get it. I even keep mobile network off when I'm home (but WiFi is on so I can get email). I don't use any apps.
