Try and use System Restore to go back before the Automatic Update...that is if you have it turned on...
If you don't...the should be a way to uninstall updates....
I can't remember the procedure so I'll try and find it...

I remember....
Go to Control Panel --> "Add and Remove Programs" ....
Arrange the programs by the date they were installed...
And uninstall the most recent installations...

Oh yeah....and how many updates were installed? And do you know what they were?

try stopping all apps that are running in the system tray ... (bottom right corner of task bar)
Ah man...that sucks....
Can you just check that Service Pack 3 is still installed, before you do that?
I'm sure it would still be but I guess I'm just making sure....because if that solved the problem before temporarily...why did it all of a sudden stop working again... =/

Damn....well I have to say that I am completely out of options for the time being....
So it might just be a good idea to reinstall windows... -_- ..

It could be preventing it from opening correctly....

Done. I formated the PC and now is working
Hopefully that STICKS for a long time ... what a journey !!!
