Played Fire Red on VisualBoyAdvance on my pc. the save file is .sav. Is there any way, no matter what emulator, any way at all to get that .sav file up and running on my phone?

Not sure but I know that emulators save there data on the sdcard so play a quick game on your phone and see what kind of file it saves your backup as.
