Help Enable fm radio??????

Does anyone know if the FM radio can be enabled on this D3??? Does root have to be figured out first? I know it has been done on the droid 2 global. I am just really pissed about the small things this phone leaves out. To be UNROOTABLE is just Motorola NONSENSE. My first and Most likely my last Motorola. only got this becauseit is a Global Slider and I'm in IRAQ with the Army!!! No Wifi here... Can I atleast listen to some tunes... damn.
 
Wow, getting pissed at specifications of a phone you should have kown about before purchace is crazy. Slacker radio is part of the stadard Droid 3 build but tunein radio (free in the market) might be a better choice. You can listen to radio with them both.
 
If in Iraq, GSM is the only option, so no cdma 3g. Streaming audio stinks using 2g and then the insane data fees. Unless near wifi, streaming is not a practical option.
 
As far as anyone can tell, this phone does not have an FM radio receiver. So, unfortunately, you are out of luck regardless of whether there is root or not.
 
Did you not read the signs when you got to iraq? You aren't supposed to have any phones or cameras just be happy your only Motorola device didn't get confiscated on its way to you.
 
Have you been to Iraq sir? I would venture to guess no because you have no idea what you are talking about. I was there for 15 months and had both a cell phone and a camera. The cell phone barely ever worked but I assure you there are no "signs" on the border you speak of. They do sometimes enforce a communications blackout, but that does not mean you are not allowed to have the devices. No FM radio on the droid 3, but what are you trying to listen to? AFN or Haji stations lol? Just pick up a shitty fm radio at the haji mart if they still have those.
 
I have been to iraq and since odds are he didn't drive to the sandy wonderland he had to travel through kuwait and associated airports and since the end of 2006 until 2009 (haven't been back) they had these big red signs that tell you all the contraband (porn, pork, plants,phones, cameras, usb's, etc.) Now I don't know about the Army but I know in the Marine Corps you can bring it but it can be confiscated and its your own fault if you didn't turn it in during amnesty. By the way its not a Comm black out its river city there is still plenty of comm going on
