Help Enable internal mic with line out device

I guess this is a general android question rather than LG Optimus One specific but anyway here goes ...

The situation: I listen to music in my car via my phone using an old-school cassette adapter that plugs into the phone's headphone jack. When I receive a call, the phone thinks I have a headset attached so the other person can't hear me - because there is no mic on my adaptor.

Question: Is there a way to make the phone always use the internal mic via the settings or an app? Or is the only way to buy something like this Seidio Headphone Mic Adapter (3.5mm to 3.5mm) - Android Accessory Deals

did you every find a solution? I have the same issue... the external mic is disabled when i plug into the "line in" car port. This kills the ability to make phone calls and hear the voice over the car speakers because the mic is disabled.


My Samsung vibrang worked perfectly, but the new LG G2x is disableing the mic when the jack is plugged in...
