Help Enabling Bluetooth randomly crashes phone

Evil_J

Lurker
When bluetooth is enabled, my phone will randomly crash, whether or not either device I have is on. (A Jebra headset, and my car stereo). When paired to either device, it works flawlessly during calls, but anywhere from a few minutes to about an hour, I'll try to use it, and it'll show my lock screen like it tried to bring up up, but froze half way through because it's only partially lit, like it was fading the backlight in, then took a shit. Only way to fix it is a hard reset. My phone is rooted, but I didn't have the stereo at the time before I rooted it, so I don't know if it would always do it rooted or not. Running Android 4.0.4

Please contact me with any ideas or questions I forgot to put in here. Bluetooth is the only sue i am having, but when my new $300 stereo has the function, it'd be nice to be able to use it reliably...

What method did you use to root? You could unroot it to see if the problem continues, or you could also upgrade the phone to Jelly Bean. The official Jelly Bean is available for this phone (build GC01).

I'm not great at this rooting crap, i just did it to get rid of a few apps I know weren't needed (Like Amazon) and to give a few apps like Avast superuser options, so I just followed the directions on this forum. Something about AGAT 0.6.8, and Odin. Not really interested in any hard core changes.

You could flash a repack kernel for ICS (it is basically a stock kernel with recovery). You would still keep your root. You can use either FI22 or the newer FL24, both available here. (match the build number to your baseband)

Boost Galaxy S II 4G Android Development

You would flash the tar file in just like you did for the AGAT 0.6.8.

See I don't really know what you just said lol. Just tried my wife's unrooted phone, and it does the same thing anyways
