Amongst a few of reasons for the delay; that sounds like it could be a very good answer...

TM complaints department say the information on their forum is incorrect and they expect the update to be available in Kies by the end of the week.

I trust the person I deal with not to lie to me but whether she's getting told the truth or not is debatable.

Kies has been showing an update for my phone for a week now, and as I'm running 2.1 surely it can only be 2.2 that I'll be upgrading to.
Only problem is that kies (MCS Thunder) keeps crashing during the upgrade.
However the Samsung service centre have said if I take it to them they'll do it while I wait.
