Does anybody know of a way to stop status bar notifications for email WITHOUT stopping the ringtone or vibration that goes with the email?
I am using K9 mail on Droid X 2.2.
My single biggest nag about this phone is that when I go directly to my email app, bypassing the status bar, the status bar notification doesn't go away unless I go back and re-read the email from the status bar. This is one of those crazy things that is just driving me nuts. I do not want to use the status bar for email.
Oddly, texting (via handcent) works exactly like I would like for it to work. Once I check the text directly from the app, the status icon goes away.
