Root Endless download mode

Well its times like this i wish i had better friends. im not new to flashing roms, but i am new to the android op.
you see, i download cm7 with the gapps and the cwm the one made for the triumph by Isacc.
At the time, i downloaded all of em through the phone not on a computer cus i dont have one.
My friend in his great wisdom told me that i didnt need a computer to install CWM to flash the phone.
He told me to download a termail app from the market, place the cwm recovery on the sdcard and type this in..
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p6 of=/sdcard/mmcblk0p6.backup bs=4096
He told me that this will back it up.. Then he told me to type this in..
dd if=/sdcard/recovery.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p6 bs=4096
Upon rebooting the phone, it went into download mode, now thats all it does. I went to my so called friend & asked how to fix it..
he told me that i shouldnt be messin with the android op if i dont know what i was doing.."fine i wont but how do you fix this?"
i asked.. he said "i dont know but that worked for my galxay tab"
(HEAD HITTING THE WALL)
I know I know.. i let my guard down about my so called friend doing this to my $300 phone but trust me.. it was well learned
Now my phone is in an endless "download mode" everytime upon boot and the battrey, while on charge, charges just long enough
for the phone to come on .. into dl mode.. dies and recharges and now is next to dead. Im in dire need of help and for the record ..
i now own a laptop and my so called friend
wont be teaching me anything about the android op anymore.

All you have to do is look through the thread and you'll see that it has another one by another user...

well if you did do a dd backup of what I would guess is the 6th partition of the device you should be able to recover by putting your backup back onto the phone using a live linux cd/dvd.

from what I can tell in my own mistakes with this phone the 6th partition is a partition that contains some of the meid and other critical data for the phone to run.

So my guess is that the mobile partition fix will not help.

the good thing about dd is that it will stop once it has run out of space to write to so the rest of your partitions should be fine.
