Root ENG S-Off?!?

The radio is a separate entity to the ROM. Usually you can just stick with the radio you have and you won't have any problems.

Some custom ROM devs recommend a radio, but I assume that's only because they can only guarantee it works with the one they use.

Nice one - did you flash a new radio when you moved over to CM? I think I'll leave it as the stock one that came with the phone (on Froyo) for now... can always go back if needed!!

I flashed a few radios that were recommended for some of the ROMs I tried, yeah. I didn't notice much difference to be honest.

Oh well... like I said... gonna just use ROM Manager and d/l CM7 and flash that... can always go back if needed!

Just done a Titanium backup and am about to backup my current ROM using ROM Manager.

Once you get into the swing of things, you can have ROM Manager download a new rom and have it backup, factory reset and install the ROM + google apps in one go.

I do think it's a good idea to go with just the backup on it's own first like you are though, just in case.

I guessed I should be able to do it all in one go, but thought it best, as you say, to do a backup on it's own first (at least I know what's going on then!!)

Xyro - just downloaded CM7 through ROM Manager... got the ROM Pre-Installation options:

Backup existing rom (not already ticked)
Wipe data and cache (not already ticked)
Wipe Dalvik Cache (already ticked)

As I've just done a backup, I guess I don't need to. Should I be wiping everything (as in should I tick/select wipe data and cache) too - I've seen loads on here (and elsewhere) where people say to do so...

In this case, you definitely need to do both types of wipe.

Just done it... gone through the backup and restore from google and got CM7 - just going through everything now and making sure that it's set up how I want.

Loving the droid!!!
