had the S 4G for a wk now and the data connection
and reception issues are killing me. i regularly get network connection error messages, can't stream netflix 80% of the time, web pages barely load, facebook takes 5 minutes to load and i can't upload pictures.

my area is blanketed with 3G and 4G is so there is no reason i shouldn't get a good data signal. after talking to a repair tech in a sprint store and level 2 support on the phone they both said signal issues are a problem with the Nexus.

i called telesales order support and they offered to swap the Nexus for the new EVO 3D at no charge so i guess i'll try that. if i still have issues i'll be going back to AT&T and my iPhone4

I've come to a conclusion that there had to have been a bad batch of phones that were produced. My ns 4g works as good if not better than my evo.I've got none of the issues being talked about. I really feel for those of you that are having problems, because this is a great phone!!

Why not try another Nexus first?

Head over to the Evo 3d area, and you'll see a huge thread complaining of poor data signal

I have those issues as well. Unfortunatly I can't exchange mine out since I bought it off craigslist :/

Assurion? did you get the TEP? if you did you should be able to go to a repair center and get the phone fixed or changed if they can't get it fix

I had AT&T for years. Tried Sprint (NS4G). The 4G signal was horrid. It would drop and I would get "no data connection" ALL the time in a heavy 4G area. I just turned 4G off all together and discovered that 3G is dog slow on Sprint. Can't even stream Netflix / Slingbox....it was a garbled, blocky mess.

I have sense canceled Sprint and went back to AT&T (Atrix) and let me tell you, I'll take their fast 3G network that works 100% of the time over a faster WiMax 4G network that rarely works.

Just my take. And it wouldn't be any better with a replacement NS4G or other Sprint phone. It's the Clear service that Sprint uses for WiMax. It's terrible as far as signal penetration. That's why Sprint is spending billions to go LTE (Lightsquared).

One day, Sprint may be the right choice for me. That day isn't today or next month...it's gonna be years before they get a reliable fast network, IMO.

I so desperately want to leave AT&T. But Sprint is making this hard for me with the low 4G reception that I am getting. Sprint suggested that I go and get a different phone. But I don';t know if that would help. I will try it but I dont kno wif it will work. :(

I would get a different phone. the NS4G radios suck! I miss my old EVO 4G. I gave it to my best friend once I got my Nexus. *sigh*

I have had the opposite happen to me, I left at&t cause of the crappy signal and they kept screwing up my bill. Sprint has been great, and they dont screw my bill up.

I have experienced similar issues. Bought my phone the day it came out. Went to the local Sprint store. They checked it out and said all is ok but they are replacing it anyway since some of the early phones had radio issues. Am picking up the new one tomorrow and we will see what happens.
