Help Enter While Texting!!!

I have an LG Ally and I want to know how to put an enter in a text message, like go down to the next line without sending the message because enter sends it so can someone help me please!
 
When looking at your text thread page, where you can see all the convos. with all the people, hit the menu button and go through your settings. There should be an option that lets you hit "Enter" and actually move down a line.

If it isn't there, go to Settings and then Keyboard and it should be there.
