Help Epic running slow and poor battery

Does anyone have any tips to speed up the epic. When I scroll to different screens it chops and now when I scroll the menu also. I had an iphone before and it was always smooth, I had the evo for a bit and brought it back because the epic was so much smoother like my iphone and this phone was in the beginning. If you can throw some help my way that would be great! Thanks alot
 
Thanks for the response. I reboot daily because I swap out batteries. I went ahead and deleted all of my widgets because I thought they might be slowing it down or something. That only helped minutely. Any other tips?
 
I was alos wondering about battry issues. I'm using the stock battery, did the airplane trick and disabled DRM services via startup auditor free, and my battery goes down like nothing. I'm using the systray monitor app and browsing these forums, it went from 90% to 83% in literally a matter of 10 mins!
 
Well I have various app and games but according to my battery use, my biggest drain is my display. Even with brightness all the way down, timeout at its lowest, etc, that seems to drain my battery the most. Ill be getting the seidio 3300 battery soon so maybe that will help. Maybe I have a bad battery or bad phone (which I'm gonna use my insurance and exchance for another epic - been with Sprint for less than a month and was lucky enough to get an Epic with the infamous possessed bck button issue).
 
Update: I downloaded spare parts and looked at my usage stats. The highest was Twlauncher which was at 131 times! Then messaging was second which was at 40 times. I have no idea what twlauncher is but could it be the problem? Should I look at something else in spare parts?
