Help Epic to computer Connecting

Hi guys, I've gotten some great advice on here and hoping someone can suggest something that I haven't tried that will help. I've tried everything to connect my Epic to my computer. The samsung drivers I had on my computer wouldn't recognize my phone. Now when I connect it I can't even pull up Samsung Kies. I've removed the drivers, restarted my computer and reinstalled the drivers and still get nothing.

Are there any other programs or drivers I can try to be able to connect my phone to my computer? I'd love to be able to root my phone but that;s a whole different issue

Thanks in advance.

Thank you but I've tried both. The cord ao used is a Blackberry cord.
I"ve tried just about every suggestion I could find to solve all my phone issues with no luck.

I just think it's not meant for me to be able to connect my phone to my computer, root it or anything else...

Also try it with usb debugging on, if you have it on try it with it off.

Thanks I've done that too still no luck. I've tried both cords & usb debuggng on & off. The only way for me transfer music & pictures is to takeout my SD card & use a usb adapter. I just think it'd be soo much easier if I could just plug in my phone & do it that way..

Would totally agree with ya there. There has to be a simple explanation for it but what? Wish i had more to throw at you to try outside of just rebooting both the phone and computer at the same time. Good luck!

What type of computer are you using, laptop or desktop? How old is it and what type of USB ports does it have (1.1 or 2.0)? Have you tried it on a different computer?
Have you tried using a powered USB hub?

I think this problem may be related to the voltage and/or speed of the USB port.

Good point. Usb ports on the back of the tower or next to the power port on laptops have highest power thru put.
