with the help of my new touchpad, thanks HP.
if the fcc size is right at 130.4 mm tall then the screen is 4.5 inches diagonal
as far as i can tell. i know the pic is a little blurry but the small tape measure is set to 130.4 mm and the large tape reads at 4.5 inches

Yes, that was my point on the other thread regarding specifications. Why would Samsung have different displays among the three U.S. Galaxy S2's? It doesn't really make sense if they have approximately the same dimensions.

be nice if they pulled a hat trick and upped the resolution a bit with that extra screen space, the pixels are less dense, they can do it technically, but I'm sure it'll get the infuse 4g treatment.

Just like the capacitive touch buttons instead of the home button (which looks much, MUCH nicer and slicker), but the nicer looking design is not for the Americans. At least the sprint version is not as butterball level corner round as the tmobile version, and hopefully it will get a spec bump in the cpu, like a 1.4/1.5 exynos or something.

That's what I was guessing the whole time. Either all three will have 4.5" screens or just Tmo's and Sprints. I'm still really hoping on the Exynos Processor. Higher Screen resolution would be nice too...

The blanks should be filled in during the big Samsung reveal coming up. A 4.5 with resolution bump would be great, but just having the 4.5 would certainly be unique. I liked my 4.3, but I suspect that a 4.5 will be noticably different for vids and gaming. :D

If it is 4.5", but the resolution is still 800x480, I am going to be SO pissed.

I guess you better change your pants then because I highly doubt they changed the res for a US launch. Have to be realistic. It would of launched in the UK with high res first. If anything differs it's the 4g because there is no 4g there.

lol. Honestly, did you expect for the screen size to change for a US launch?

A few days ago, I recall reading this article on Cnet concerning updating the European phones with a reference concerning the T-Mobile GS2. You will note that the writer discusses the new 4.5 inch screen while noting that the new display (at least in Europe) is expected to have the AMOLED plus screen, but makes no mention of what the pixel count might be:

Thanks. Didn't see this before.

I'm glad they got rid of the home button. That thing was hideous! I'm hoping for a spec bump as well along with the 4.5 screen.

wow, if its 1.5 dualcore and 4.5 inches, thats tough to resist, color me very excited! I am on my 29th day of my photon 4g, let me ask you guys... If I return my photon and get my upgrade back, how long does it take to for them to reverse it? I ask because I thought about going to bestbuy and buying the evo 3d, that way I can reset my 30 days, and get the epic touch, what do you think? is that crazy, or has anyone done this?

^^

You can't just keep exchanging phones every 30 days (to my knowledge), if you exchange for a different phone now, that's your last exchange, unless there is something wrong with it (i.e. manufacturer defect), of course.

I haven't done this, but I think that you can just return a phone once. You should just ask Sprint.

Thanks for that, phone looks great. I wish it had the home button, but I figured from the start it wouldn't considering the original Galaxy S phones.

Glad to see it is thin, and looks a lot like the original. Now I am waiting to see what processor is in it. I am thinking it will be 1.5 snapdragon, but still hoping for original, but will be happy with both.

Man I am pumped.

Doubt it all the original US SGS2'S said "Galaxy S2" on the back (Well at least the Epic did)

Well I don't remember any of them saying Galaxy S2 on the back or I still would have one, lol. :p

But yes my Fascinate had Galaxy S on the back of the phone.

Also These pictures have it on the back, even though the leak of the Within/Epic Touch that was originally leaked did not have Galaxy S 2 on the back.
