Epic Touch has 4.5 inch screen

wow, if its 1.5 dualcore and 4.5 inches, thats tough to resist, color me very excited! I am on my 29th day of my photon 4g, let me ask you guys... If I return my photon and get my upgrade back, how long does it take to for them to reverse it? I ask because I thought about going to bestbuy and buying the evo 3d, that way I can reset my 30 days, and get the epic touch, what do you think? is that crazy, or has anyone done this?

I returned my evo3D to radio shack over a month ago and Sprint has yet to reverse the upgrade for me. You'll have to call Telesales (*shudder*), first 2 times i called them, they said my upgrade was back on my account. a week later still nothing so i call them again, this time they tell me to call radio shack where i returned the phone to and ask them to ship the phone back to sprint (?). last i checked, my account still hasn't been updated to show an upgrade. i'll have to call them a 4th time and hear them try to sell me more service.... sigh.

Well I don't remember any of them saying Galaxy S2 on the back or I still would have one, lol. :p

But yes my Fascinate had Galaxy S on the back of the phone.

Also These pictures have it on the back, even though the leak of the Within/Epic Touch that was originally leaked did not have Galaxy S 2 on the back.

Lol whoops my mistake :p

Did a mockup in Photoshop of the original GSII and the Epic Touch using their measurements. I would definitely say it's going to have a larger screen..

GizmoCrunch picked up a site called Android Community which picked up your photo comparison from your Google+ page. (Weird roundabout for getting the photo mockup.) Then, Android Community gave you credit but plastered their watermark on your photo.

In any case, the point they made was that since the icons were also enlarged, that meant that the resolution of the display was poor. This seems to be a valid point.

It will most likely be the same resolution as the Infuse, but from the reviews of the Infuse I don't remember anyone complaining about the screen.

Hah! The screen is 4.52, so you need to get your tablet re-calibrated!

(Just kidding. I think it is over-the-top for manufacturers to include the .02 rather than rounding.)

TommyDaniel, I was inspired by your idea to make this comparison between the Evo4G and the E4GT:

The third image is of the Evo sitting on top of the E4GT. BTW, I shaved off the power button and volume rocker on the Evo.

Thanks. I was surprised at how much bigger the E4GT was. It might actually be skirting with "too big" territory. It's a little bigger than the "little bigger than Evo" I was willing to go, but then again, 4.5" screen makes up for a lot of that. The fact that the E4GT is 24% lighter than the Evo might make up for it as well.

I personally think Sammy uses the best screen ratio in any tech. Just like their Series 7 Chronos laptops coming in Oct. The bezel is so little they put a 14' in a 13' bezel and a 15' in a 14' bezel. Amazing. Same with phones. It'll get a little bigger but I'm sure in person all the hype comes to an end. When I went to see the Infuse I was like it's not that big. The thinness makes you love it even more. I'm sure eventually Sammy will start putting their logos on the back only and all screen with barely there bezels on the front. If anything the front facing camera and ear speaker. Already have money to the side for this. Only one more to save up for, Nexus 3.

Ouch that thing is huge.

I'm going to have to see how this thing feels.

I thought the EVO might have been too big. My Epic feels way more comfortable than the EVO I had. This might be too much..... :(

I am not so sure this is too big. Cobra, it would be very cool if you could do the same overlay, but with the 3VO on top of the ET4G. That would be a real world comparison between the new choices out there. Maybe slap the Photon in as well.

Thanks......... :D

The Evo was a thick Slate. Epic was a thicker phone but had a keyboard. That was the exception. SGSII is super thin and bigger screen. Play with it in person and I have a feeling you'll change your mind. First thing people see is Omgosh it's gigantic. Look at the design behind the screen as well. That's the exception behind a slate phone where as the Epic has a keyboard so it's expected. It all comes down to your personal preference anyways.

I personally think Samsung did it right with this one. Thin and large screen is what I was hoping for. It's not that much bigger than the Evo and will still fit in a pocket, thats fine by me.

I agree, the larger screen is better. I was hoping for the 4.3 screen, but after seening the very slight increase in overall size, this is a no brainer for me. My upgrade is on the 15th, and ill be getting this phone as soon as I can.

The first is the Photon on the E4GT, then Evo 3D on the E4GT, and then the E4GT on top of the Fuse. The Photon and Evo 3D are practically the same size, but the Fuse is actually bigger than the E4GT.

I don't really care about size, unless it is actually ridiculously large. Yes, have a nice, sleek, sexy phone is awesome to have, but is the reason that you will get this phone be to grab attention, or to have a phone with very nice performance?

I really don't care about aesthetics more than performance, but this phone has the best of both worlds! IMO it has the best looks and performance. That's why this is definitely my next phone!

Well everyone has their preference.I am one that look at the aesthetics of a device and the performance. I will do a 360 back and forth, raise it up and down a few times in my hands just to get a feel of a device. This is just me. I also like a wider screen like the EVO 4G vs the EVO 3D screen. For some reason I don't like the long slimmer size screens. I also have to see the phone in person before I make a purchase so I don't do pre-orders. Then I make my way to the OS and see how it perform and response. Well this is just me, maybe it's because I don't put case on my phone.
