Help Epub files?

I submitted this earlier but it seems not to have worked.

I am a total newbie with android, and need some help.

I downloaded two books in epub format, one opens and looks right, the other opens to all blank pages. Ive tried it three times.

I am working through file manager.

I tried to convert it to kindle and downloaded that, but I get choices on what l to use to open it and neither works. Kindle is not a choice.

I downloaded moon reader and can't figure how to get my books into its shelf..........

I tried going to kindle, and can't get thru the sign in process.......

There's a good possibility that the second, unreadable, file is a bad download, or there was nothing in it to begin with. If you can find someone who knows how to read raw files, he can open the file in a hex editor and see if there's really an ebook in it.

I can read the book on my pc in calibre, so there really is a book.

but I even have issues navigating the memo pad.

I FOUND IT.

I got the two books from Kobo. The one that would not load had a DRM, the other did not.

If you have a PC, install Calibre as Gene, that program let's you convert to something more familiar like PDF with bookmarks and all, and also let's you select your fonts of choice and their size, just in case you don't want to use ePub (which is, by the way, an open format unlike PDF).
