Eqqus tablet won't turn on

Ok, so I own an EQQUS 7EQ-012XXS tablet. We stopped using it a couple months ago and now it won't turn on. It refuses to charge as well. I went ahead and removed the cover, unsoldered the wires and manually charged the battery.

The battery is now fully charged but it just shows a battery warning icon and won't load Android. I tried pressing the power button and combining it with the volume up one but it doesn't seem to work. The reset key doesn't seem to help much either.

Any clues on what to do? It seems like this tablet is so rare that I can't find much information online.

eqqus.cn Chinese manufacturer, and their website is in Spanish. Other than that, don't know anything else about them. It's possible the firmware has become corrupted or damaged and it needs to be re-flashed.
