Extreme Android User
Android is telling me what I can and cannot do again!!! For an OS which is supposedly what the user wants and not its maker it sure has a funny way of showing it. With my iPhone, I can use all the equalizer settings I like whether i'm using headphones or the internal speaker. Somehow, in contrast, my Samsung Galaxy tab 2, despite having superior stereo speakers, wont let me use bass boost, a feature I use by default on my iPad despite its single, mono speaker. When I attempt to use the same setting in Android, as usual I get an annoying pop-up essentially akin to HAL 9000 saying 'I am sorry, Dave, i'm afraid I can't do that'
Actual error message is 'current sound effect not supported by speaker.'
Horse hockey. Let me use it anyway, what harm can it possibly do? My iPad has one single speaker and even Apple lets me do it! I don't appreciate any operating system protecting me from myself. If that is what this message intends
EDIT: while built-in equalizer controls would be nice, the restrictions were not so like i did in version 2.3, I installed an equalizer app to work around this bug
