Help ereader app

I tried using the "Books" app on my new note. I download books from the Sac county library in epub format. I downloaded to calibre on my laptop, but cannot get the "Books" app to recognize the book. Can anyone tell me how to go about doing this? Thanks in advance.

Is the Books app an epub reader? Have you tried a different reader such as Moon+ or Cool Reader?

I tried Moon+ last night, but was not able to get it to see the book. The book is a download from Sacramento library. It was downloaded as an "epub" but when I look at the file in my note it is listed as:LoiteringwithintentEPUB - Unknown.ascm. I can only open it in text mode and it is just page after page of the same gobldy gook. I can load the same file in my Sony Touch ereader and it is fine.

I may have solved at least part of my problem. I went to the Sacramento library web site and they recommend an app called "Overdrive". I downloaded the app to my note and it lets you search book stores, libraries, etc. I'll see how that works.

Can you rename it to "___.epub"?

Alternatively, can you download the PDF or Kindle versions of the book?
