Eris 2.1 leak Bug's and Fixes

I noticed that in some applications, doesn't matter which one (not all the time though), when pressing the back button I get the message to select what action to perform, either Home or Sense. This is the only way i've been able to get in the default home instead of Sense. How else can you configure it to "disable" Sense?

HTC Sense for 1.5 requested authorization. So those who already had authorization for 1.5 and didn't have it disappear (like my gf) had Facebook Syncing work. Those who didn't have it disappear find that Facebook for HTC Sense works great.

What's the fix? Well, I'm on 1.5, and my gf's on 2.1 (she's having the problem). I'm going to try, today, to log into the integrated Facebook syncing with my 1.5 phone with my GIRLFRIEND'S login, just to authorize HTC Sense on her Facebook account, then log in back on mine on my phone, and HER login on her 2.1 phone, to see if it syncs.

I'm betting on success here.

Does anyone here who ISN'T getting facebook syncing to work, seeing 'HTC Sense' under their Authorized apps on Facebook.com?

I will post my findings, as a "Fix" if this works.

First of all, there are some BT things that don't work well in 2.1, so it seems (in response to someone posting about their bluetooth stereo situation). You can't voice dial with BT, and it sounds like, based on your experience, it looks like some other things are off with bluetooth.

Second,

This facebook attempt that I made was a huge FAIL. I got 'HTC Sense' to be under 'Authorized' Applications in Facebook's website for my gf. I did this with my 1.5 phone, logging in as her in my phone, and posting from my People app. We turned it back on her 2.1 phone and she could 'Share' her status in the People app, but still, when attempting to link Facebook contacts, the app lists NO ONE in the list of possible links.

Note: she has about 1000 friends.

Also, when hitting 'Sync Facebook Contacts' in the Facebook for HTC Sense Account Sync, the syncing literally takes 3 seconds, and nothing happens. Is this the thing that adds Facebook phone numbers to your phone book? Or is this what updates peoples' statuses and links their profiles?
 
I switched back to home immediately after installing the leak, I prefer it over sense as I just don't like widgets (clock / power only) and don't need that much real estate for my icons. I've had no problems, or complaints, at all with my dialer. It's sooo responsive compared to 1.5 that it's not even funny. Instantly hangs up when you press end call, and with No Call Log, it goes right back to the home screen like it should, very quickly.

I might try getting out of Sense for a bit and trying Home alone (no pun intended). I've noticed some lag in the dialer, and the end call button on the screen is still slow, BUT the end call button (same one to put the phone to sleep) is a fast way to end a call and it doesn't cause the phone to go to sleep when you're ending a call. That was still an issue for me when I had 1.5
 
If you want to try "home" instead of "Sense", you have to clear data, right? Does this delete your saved scenes if you want to go back to Sense? It would be a bitch to reorganize my widgets if I wanted to switch back.

I just go to app manager in setting and clear the default under HTC Sense app. Then hit the home button and you should have the choice of home or Sense and pick that one for default. Just clear the default again if you want to go back. If you save your Sense home screen, you should be able to get it back.
 
RapidShare also crashed xScope requiring a reboot. Back to the stock browser for me. At least when it dies I can usually recover without a reboot.

Have you tried going through the people app, menu, view, and make sure Facebook is checked? Works for me.
 
I did a complete factory reset and reloaded everything and it made a huge difference. All the bugs I was dealing with before have disappeared and the phone is fast now. If you are having issues, try it.

same here i did a factory reset last night and all the problem i had also dissapeared.

+1 ...only issues that remain are gmail not showing pictures, and google sign-in after reboot.
 
I'm having a pretty major problem. In Sense, my homescreen keeps scrolling all the way to the left, and when it gets there I can't make it scroll back to the right.
Anyone else had this issue?

I've read where dirty trackball can cause screens to scroll uncontrollably.
Just a thought.

Thanks. I'll have to give it a try when I get home (no alcohol wipes at work :mad:). I was worried I was going to have to go through the factory reset fix.
 
I may have missed this, but the factory reset that some of you are doing... What does it do to your SD card? Anything? Does it wipe out photos and stuff too off the card?

All issues? My phone shows only 2 bars of service unless I make a call, then it goes up to all bars. Also, the browser closes randomly and I randomly lose all sound on the phone and need to restart it.

By reload, what do you mean? You did a factory reset in the settings menu and then reloaded the 2.1 rom? Or did you simply do a factory reset and put your apps back on. I want to try it but want to make absolutely certain I'm doing it right.
