Eris 2.1 leak Bug's and Fixes

After a reboot, all my favorites in my people widget disappeared. The only way to get them back was to delete the widget and then add the widget. Anyone else get this problem?

Yes, and then I had to go into each favorite and redefine a default action. The plus on that was that "show contact" is now a choice, where it wasn't in 1.5 - which is great because that's what I wanted. Phone lagged on the dialer until I did this step but is now much faster than 1.5
 
HELP!

i just did the download and install...and everything seems to be working EXCEPT the keyboard.

no matter what key i tap, i get a "q". i've been trying this for 10 mins, and i can't get it to work correctly.

obviously i can't compose any message, and set up my google acct, etc.

any ideas as to what's happening??

any help appreciated.

calibrate the screen ?
there was a post just like this the other day.. not sure what thread it was in, maybe this one

btw...during the setup process, when it prompts to do type in the word "simple" on the keyboard, it would not work. i tried and tried, but only the "q" letter would work.

i then just bypassed that page and proceeded with the rest of the setup.

I'm guessing at this point, I'm trying to find the original post. kinda hard to search on that.
 
yessir, rebooting seems to have fixed it. i'm now redoing the install stuff that was missed earlier from the lack of keyboard (setting up google acct, et).

On 2.1 how come when I try to view my accounts with the Bank of America app I get the webpage not working, and same for the inital page that brings you to the web when u first open where??
 
I have the 2.1 leak and my facebook contacts wont sync....ive search the forums and everything i saw doesnt seem to work...is there a updated 2.1 leak? can you use it if you have the earlier leak?
 
definitely saw a bit of phone lag today- went to call someone from my missed calls and by the time my finger hit one of the caller another missed call refreshed or something and it called that person. then trying to end the call it takes forever it seems.

But on a side note, I notice a HUGE difference in battery life. That alone made the whole switch worth it IMO.
 
Installed leak last night and only noticed two small issues...1) I've noticed the "Facebook not syncing pictures with contacts" issue but looked through forum and have gotten most of them to come up now. 2) I've also noticed the certain apps not being able to access internet issue as well. No big deal, it's only for my Bank of America app. I can just log on my computer for the time being.

Overall, the upgrade is nice. I've had my Eris since November so I just got tired of searching the forums everyday looking for the OTA update. I'm not worried about missing out on the OTA update because even if we don't get it OTA...someone will post the file. So my recommendation: Go ahead and update! Just use the tutorial and its easy...very easy. DO IT!;)

known issue that has been brought up multiple times, no fix as of yet. probably dependent on the official 2.1 release

RE: Bank of America workaround involves using your Eris browser to log into your online acc't. Go through the login steps then logout. Be sure to bookmark the site. Go to the screen you want the icon on and select + key and select shortcut then select the B of A bookmark.

When you click on this icon, it works exactly the way the BAC app works.

After official 2.1 release comes out I'm sure the regular app will work.

for those that use BOA, good to know.. I dropped them like a bad habbit a few years ago. I will stick with my local bank.
 
Just noticed this, updated from 1.5 to the newest 2.1 leak, now I have the 100% awake issue. Didn't have it on 1.5. Going to make Handcent the default and see if that fixes it, but just a heads up for anyone who has updated and is having battery issues.

This is the only bug I have noticed that is out of the usual ones people are experiencing (gmail pics, etc.). Other than that I'm extremely happy and can't wait for the OTA, which is coming tomorrow right? :p

Put the phone in airplane mode for a minute or two, then return to normal mode. See if that fixes the problem.
 
Every time I check the running services, I see that Google maps has a process running called "FriendsAppWidgetUpdate." I stop it every time, and every time I open the running services again, it's still running. I have no idea what this is, and I don't use the Latitude function of google maps (why would anyone use this - except maybe a protective parent?).
I'm on the newest 2.1 leak. Anyone else seeing this?
 
anyone see the issue on latest 2.1 where bluetooth share is running and draining the battery heavily upon bootup? My phone was actually warm while in "sleep" out on the desk. I had to go into Settings > Applications > Manage and force stop Bluetooth Share.
