Update: Well that didn't work. I have two "I'm" listed in the suggestion bar. The fist one doesn't work, the second one does. Weird.

het everyone, just thought i would throw this out there, i upgraded to the 2.1v3 leak and it has been ok. I am having new problems i wasnt before, while having 1 problem that continued after upgrading. New problems are, the silent phone thing. I am having to reset my phone atleast 3 times a day due to this problem, try to make a phone call, dials....no sound at all, try to press on keypad, no sound. Another new problem i am having is the low signal problem. I never had a problem with dropping connections in my home, always had FULL signal strength, now i have 1-2 bars if im lucky. I thought like everyon else that it was just a glitch and it was reporting lower connection then it had. Yesterday i found out that that is not the case, my brother-in-law has the eris and i had him come over for a test. he has the eris, with 1.5 installed, never did the update. Bolth phones sitting side by side, my phone 1-2 bars, his phone full signal. So we started testing to see if it was low signal or just a glitch. So we started loading webpages, my phone goes between 3g downloading to 1x, to 3g(dO) while his stays on 3g and has pages downloaded in half the time mine takes. This makes me think that there is sometihng wrong with the 2.1v3 update that is screwing up the power the phone uses to pull signal. My phone, after an hour of running these little tests, was down to around 50% while his phone was at 75%....bolth of us have pretty much the same apps installed and we bolth killed all process except for needed ones. I hope these issues are addresseed int eh actual OTA update.

Ok, one thing I just noticed with 2.1v3, I added a FOLDER on my home page called E-Mail, however, when I open the Folder and go to add my various e-mail progams in the folder, it states that there in no room on my home page to add a program, however, the folder is empty...any ideas?
I've rebooted and deleted the folder and re-added the folder, but still the same error.

That's happened to me on 1.5, but I think it was related to an overall lack of memory. After clearing caches and removing lesser used apps the problem went away.

A friend installed the 2.1 firmware on my Eris for me back in March. The build number is 2.26.605.2. After scanning through all these messages is sounds like I need build 2.26.605.4 or 2.36.605.1 to fix some of my phone's issues. Any suggestions as to which I should try? I've learned to deal with everything but I'd really like to see the html pics in my gmail so that's my main interest in updating. Thanks!
You should definitely go with the newer version, 2.36.605.1 or "leak 3" because it finally fixes the HTML embedded pictures in Gmail.
Hey Caddy, shouldn't you do an edit to the first post for fixes and just say "install v3"!
While I don't know Caddy personally, from what I've seen of his posts I do not think is a habitual liar. v3 while better than leak two still has some, imo, bugs that need to be corrected before pushing to the masses.
off the top of my head are:
plug in headphones while playing mp3's in the stock player and it continually skips through the songs (also noticed on slacker as well)
camera doesn't shut down properly, and will suck the battery dry in a matter of an hour or two.
Then the stock message app not displaying the proper number of unread (17 in the list of fixes) is not fixed either.
But the phone works!!!
I can't tell you how many times i was on the phone with someone and due to the lag and me hitting the contact 2x it put the person on hold and attempted to call them again.
True true, havent had any dialing issues since v3 credit where its do and all that. I'm not bashing anybody or the leaks or whatever, i just really think it would have been a HUGE mistake on VZW's part to push any of these out as they stand right now, and the folks calling them "perfect" must be incredibly lucky. That being said I have no regrets (other than missing root) trying any of them, the fun factor was worth the inconvenience for me.

Thanks! Are you running that version now & is it pretty smooth? I'm not a "tech savvy" as a lot of people on here but I think I can read directions & install it. Another thought: Since the Incredible just came out with 2.1, I'm thinking most of the bugs have been worked out. My husband got this phone last week but I'm curious as to what the build number is for that phone. I'll check when I see him later. That's what we would all eventually want on our Eris with the OTA, right?

The Incredible Firmware is labeled as 2.1-Build 1 in the two I saw this weekend, one in a corporate store and one on a friends phone.

although i lost root... i am very happy about having images back in gmail! everything else is running smoothly for me as well with v3! (so far)
Since I was on 1.5, and through all the leaks up to v3, I have been happy as a clam listening to podcasts and having phone calls through my cars bluetooth stereo. I have never experienced any problems... until now.
Once I got v3 I have had a recurring bluetooth issue, see below:
When listening to a podcast, or having a phone conversation, audio is working fine through the car stereo. In as short a time as 3 minutes and as long a time as 11 minutes, the phone will stop transmitting audio to the stereo - but it thinks it still is. My car shows that the bluetooth is still connected (via an icon) and the podcast or person I am talking to on the phone keep going like nothings happened. The phone still shows a good connection, but no audio is being played.
I've done factory resets and whatnot but the fact that it is not application specific makes me believe it is a new issue with v3 of the leak. Anyone else experience this issue?

Since V3 I have not been able to pair my phone with my car at all. I am going to see if deleting my "Eris Profile" from the car and re-paring it as a new device fixes it and report back. In the meantime, if you are able to, I would try that now.

Incoming calls -sometimes when recieving a call, my ohine screen turns black for about 10 sec. , and then will flash the caller ID... :-(
my signal is around 2 bars all day. only seen a full signal once or twice
battery life still sucks (no pun intended)
Handcentsms is laggy
phone dialer is VERY laggy..
other than that , its WAY better than the 1.5....ANY suggestions on how to fix these problems??

Why didn't you just wait for a v3 ROM for root? The leak hasn't even been out a week. Not worth losing root indefinitely, IMO.

i messed up... didn't read enough... had my phone rooted and then flashed the v3 leak thinking it would update my root... now i can't go back...

idk if this is a bug or not:
my battery sometimes will not charge... when i plug it in it shows the little lightning bolt but it doesn't show the "filling up" animation... i have to power cycle it sometimes up to 3 times before it will actually charge...
does anyone else have this problem??? or is it a faulty phone?
im hoping its the latter... then maybe i can get a new one and go back to root

I've had this happen once or twice and like you I'm not sure if it has something to do with the leak or if it's hardware related. I also can't remember if it happened in 1.5.

this makes me curious...why aren't any of the 2.1 ROMS for the Eris getting white bar at the top of the screen instead of the black one?

I have had this same black screen when getting an incoming call. It has happened at least four times. I was worried everytime I would miss the call because there was nothing on my screen.
THIS!! This bug is killing me! It is the most frustrating thing when it happens. No one has seemed to know what could possibly causing this. It makes me regret ever updating. Had i known, I would have never upgraded to the leak. I get it, it's my fault but I can't take it anymore.
