Eris 2.1 leak Bug's and Fixes

I've noticed that if you allow the Google start page to access your location, the GPS icon up top does not go away after you've closed the browser by using the back arrow. I had to use ATK to kill off the browser to make it go away.

This may have been because it was having a hard time finding my location and I didn't give it enough time, but I do remember the Yelp app not clearing the GPS icon even after it got a lock.
 
what is the best way to back up your phones stuff before installing the leaked update? then how do you get it back to your phone after installing the update?
 
IIRC, what is now Internet WAS Browser for 1.5.

Could this be why urbanspoon/craigsphone etc. aren't working as far as browser capability go? I'd think if that's all, just a sort of "If bin/whatever/browser.exe not found, then bin/whatever/internet.exe" might fix it when they update the apps.

Might try doing a *228. Not sure if it will work, but I just did it as well...
 
Am I crazy, or is the audio from the microphone is not transmitted through the earpiece anymore? I took my first call on 2.1 and when I speak I no longer hear myself through the phone... It freaked me out at first because I thought my microphone wasn't working. I guess it is a good thing...?

#PMT (768) - make a payment
#BAL (225) - check current balance and last payment
#MIN (646) - check minute usage
#DATA (3282) - check txt and pic message usage
*611 - customer service
*511 - gives weather and traffic in some areas
*228 - update your Perfered Roamers List or update the software on your Phone (CDMA phones only)
*228 80 - force update, ignore fails
*228 99 - force seconday tower update
*228 00 - original tower update

Don't think my Jawbone ever did that. Haven't tried it with 2.1 yet.
 
You can know edit User Dictionary in the Settings... Have cannot send txt messages will restart phone and try VZ numbers like (*228)
 
Is anyone having problems with handcent sending messages.. About half my texts i have to keep re sending cause they don't send

I tried to search but couldn't find anything. If I install 2.1 and I have some weird issues and want to roll back to 1.5, how do I do that? I doubt i'll go back to 1.5 but I would like to know how to get back if I do install 2.1.

Yeah mine is doing this too, except they actually are going through when they say they aren't. I tried resending one 3 times to a friend, and she said "quit sending me the same message!" Many other times, i've not resent after it said it failed, and they reply back to the text that supposedly did not get sent.
 
Dialing *228 or restarting has led me to be able to send texts! In handcent as well, if you are having TXT message problems then...

That's what I did last night, just to curve any possible bugs that might otherwise have popped up.
