Help Eris activation

Hey, I don't really know anything about phones and how to root them and stuff. By I bought a verizon droid eris but couldn't activate it from verizon bcuz of insurance issues with past owner. I was just using as wifi, so I rooted it and flashed cm7 gingerbread. But now I want to activate so is there a way to do so before I go buy another phone?

I believe that the phone you have has what they call "Bad ESN" meaning that it can't be activated on Verizon until any outstanding issues have been cleared up. If you wish to activate that phone, you more than likely will have to pay any unpaid monies, and then everything will be fine. Or you could flash the phone, but that's a whole 'nother story.
