yes so much lag to make a flipping phone call just a dam call takes ages. I feel like going back to a regular flip phone. These smart phones are getting on my last nerve.
Always freezes on me. I have factory reset about 3 times, erase call log. This is just getting ridiculous. I love the phone but come on.
All these software updates and crap. Why don't they take the time to perfect a software and then make the phones that can handle it. Make one great product. Oh wait Apple does that.
This close to saying goodbye to the big red.
Some perceived lag in phone function can be related to the wrong slot cycle for your tower proximity at the times of the incoming calls.
The slot cycle index is at ##778 (dial as if making a call) > Edit Mode > 000000 (six zeroes for the password) > Modem Settings > Slot Cycle Index.
Make your selection, probably a "1" or a "0," then > Menu and save/confirm your new setting.
The device will then reboot.

..everytime i try to dial that number nothing happens..
I decided to write Verizon about the call lag for fun and this was the response:
Dear [Me] ,
My name is Dan, and I am sorry to hear that you experiencing lag while using your Droid Eris. As the Android OS is developed by Google, I am unable to provide approximate release dates for their next software update, because this may raise expectations that may not be met. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Below I have provided you with some basic troubleshooting steps you may try on your own to resolve the issue.
The issue you have described may need to be duplicated with a live representative, as troubleshooting equipment via E-mail is extremely difficult. I tried to call you today at 5:36 PM (MST), so I could personally walk you through some steps to resolve the issue; however, I was unable to reach you. In some instances, when you are having issues with lag, following the steps provided below may resolve the issue right away:
- Battery Reset:
1. Remove the battery from the phone while it is powered on.
2. Leave the battery out for 10 seconds.
3. Re-insert the battery and power the phone back on.
- Master Reset:
(Note: this will erase of your personal data from the phone, and restore it to factory settings)
1. Touch HOME
2. Touch Menu
3. Touch Settings
4. Touch Privacy
5. Touch Factory data reset.
6. On the Factory data reset screen, tap Reset phone and then tap Erase everything.
Keep in mind, the reset may take anywhere from 1-10 minutes for reset and restart depending on amount of data on device.
If the issue still persists after following the instructions above, please contact our Customer Service Department at 800-922-0204 from a landline phone to speak with a representative who will walk you through step-by-step instructions to troubleshoot the issue. Please have your wireless phone fully charged and available when you call.
In closing, [Me], I hope the troubleshooting steps I provided have been helpful in resolving your issues with lag. If not, please contact us from a landline phone for more troubleshooting. We appreciate your business and thank you for being a valued part of the Verizon Wireless family since 2005!
Sincerely,
Dan

pandora is killing the dialer uninstall it your phone dialer will work much faster!I wonder if this has anything to do with the silent call bug. What if it's a missed call due to severe lag?

I posted this in another thread as well, but I just want to stress it:
I talked to Verizon, and they were like, "Gee... we don't have many people complaining about dialing/calling problems." They said if they have enough people complain, they will fix it, but until then, they won't make a bug fix for something that only a few people experience.
I went onto HTC's site and Verizon's and wrote a complaint about my phone dialer, and HTC and Verizon both contacted me hours later.

But I like Pandora.
yeah well what do you want music or the police when you need them lol just saying
Pandora has not caused me any problems. If I'm listening to music and want to make a call, I stop the application using the menu and then make my call. If I receive a call, the music stops on its own, I take the call and it starts back up when I hang up.
I keep my phone clean, and it works for me. I clear the cache, trim the call log, and delete old messages. I do get occasional lag, but it's usually when I'm doing too many things at once. That is my fault, not the phone's.
Have you guys deleted your call history? That usually helps me.
