eris force closing after update and wont make a call

After the update, my gfs eris has an x for signal, and keeps giving two google.com errors and force closing. Won't even connect to wifi without erroring out.

Verizon had me do a hard reset, which of course wiped the phone. It did seem to resolve the issue though - no more force closing when I try to make a call. Did anyone else have a different solution?

Sounds like you need a hard reset.

I had the same problem with my HTC Droid Eris.

The cause is simply having too many applications installed. If you uninstall enough of them and reboot, the problem goes away.
