Eris Hardware/Operation Issue - inop Droid

After charging my Droid Eris (Verizon) doesn't power on. The screen is black and displays a triangle with a yellow exclamation point in the middle and an Eris laying in front of the triangle. Nothing happens when I press the Call, End or any keys. Any ideas on this problem - how to solve it, what causes it and how to avoid it? Thanks

Take it back to Verizon and get a new one. If you signed up for a gmail account when you first got the phone it coppied all of your contacts into your profile. As soon as you get the new phone and log back in to your gmail account it will automatically download all of your contacts with the pictures in tact if you added any.

Thnaks but come to find out ..the battery was discharged. Recharged and all is well..My bad...
