Eris OTA... Does this mean anything for us??

So it seems an OTA rolled out for the Eris this week, I wonder if that means there actually is something imminent in the works for us Incredible owners. Any thoughts? It has been way to hot lately and I would love some froyo

yeah, we only got a fix for our silent bug bullshit. it was like, two weeks ago too i believe

My wife got hers last week. She didnt have a problem, so it didnt mean anything to her.

As for Incredible, there is a lot of smoke about something soon, and only conjecture as to when. I think it is safe to say an update shouldnt be too far away, which by HTC history means sometime in the next 12 months :D

I don't get this whole "HTC is slow to upgrade their phones" argument. Is Motorola really better? Give examples...

Moto back flip, Cliq, cliq XT have gotten no OS updates yet. The MyTouch 3g got cupcake less than a month from when the SDK came out. The Hero and Eris have 2.1 now (took a few months, but the have it NOW while Moto phones still don't have it). Motorola is way more fragmented than HTC (just about every Moto phone has a different version of their UI, while most HTC flagship phones use Sense).

I'm not a big fan of Motorola's versions of Android. On sort of the same note, does anyone think that Gingerbread will stop all of different Android skins?
