I just got my eris today..it says that i need to do an OTA update that requires 40% of battery, and that i will not be able to use my phone for the duration of it...is that the first update that messed up the youtube app? and what does that update give to me that i dont already have? thanks for you help :)
 
if you youtube app works now, and you want it to keep working, decline the OTA, but it will bug you constantly about it though.

doesnt really give anything to write home about either.

Ya i keep saying later...but i would like that too keep working, and if the update doesnt give me anything then i guess i will keep ignoring it..thanks!

If this is the last OTA that was pushed out, it was to fix some people Lock Screen lag time issue...
I did this OTA and my youtube was screwed up before and still was after....lol
 
actually my youtube is already messed up it says sorry video cant be played..was there something else after that?

No, they havent fixed that yet :/
So you can go ahead and do the OTA, you wont notice a change at all except it will stop telling you there is one available :)
 
lol..ok thanks you guys..im sure this phone will drive me nuts before i figure it out..i have had a blackberry for 4 years and thats pretty cut and dry..this will be a new challenge for sure!

If you ever need any help let myself or anybody here know, this is a pretty great community.
 
You can always just go to the youtube site in the browser. It works just as good and their mobile theme site is very good. So you can get the update (which fixes bugs and such) and still use youtube just fine, just not the app (which isn't that great anyway).
