I know the topic is kind of Lounge-ish (sorry Frisco), just wondered if anyone is still around from the "good old days" when rooting an Eris was no fun at all. If you recognize this....you'll know what I mean. One-one thousand, two-one thousand....

lol...I remember this.... Glad I never had to try this .

There was a somewhat recent post by eu1 on xda I think (as "bftb0", of course) listing all of the rooting methods for the Eris. Kind of funny since there was only one for a long time. Here's the ones I can list/remember:

1. Leaked base root ROM (http://androidforums.com/eris-all-things-root/53963-guide-stock-1-5-latest-root-2-1-a.html)

2. tereg / dc_striker SD card eject method (Updated root 1.49 - xda-developers)

3. wag3slav3 mtd - mid.txt symlink exploit ([WORKING] ROOT for all Eris' - xda-developers)

4. Sebastian Krahmer's rageagainstthecage exploit (example: [APP] z4root - xda-developers)

5. sosicwitit (xda-developers - View Single Post - [Q] semi-Bricked?? fix?)

Pretty wild, eh?

Takes time. The release of the Thunderbolt yesterday caused a mega-posting flurry in that device's forum that requires a lot of attention.. still going on this morning. *sigh*

Anyway, Eris is part of my rounds, but I do admit to doing what tasks here need to be done and moving on quickly to the next forum on my list, most of the time.
