Root Eris Splash Screen ... rooted with xtrSENSE

I rooted my Eris last night with xtrSENSE and so far it's working fine. The only thing I don't like is the splash screen is the same as stock, the three skateboarding droids. I tried changing it with instructions found here ... How To: Change Your Splash Screen (For All 320 x 480 Resolution Android Devices) | TheUnlockr ... but apparently I don't have the needed SPL because it fails.

Is there a way to change the splash screen? I have never liked it and would love to do something different.
