Help Eris stuck on headset mode without headset plugged in.

Went for a jog this morning and had earphones plugged in, when I finished jogging I removed the earphones and the phone still says they are plugged in. No rain or moisture involved. I have pulled the battery and restarted with no improvement. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks

That happened to me once. All I did was re-plug the headphones in, and pull them out, and it corrected the problem.
