Checked www.pcdphones.com. The MR2 is in downloads for the eris for manual install. If you dont want to wait for the OTA push, check it out.

I corrected the link. Thanks for pointing it out. That link takes you to unoallavolta.com not any site with an update on it.
Just checked. It's the same.Could someone who installs this go to Menu -> About Phone and post the Build Number? The leak was 1.17.605.1 CL104882
Thanks!

they will show back up after the OTA.Some of the apps I purchased are not in my downloads.
Can someone explain exactly what this is. Is this the 2.0 software or what? I don't want to install it and end up not getting official updates in the future. And what is OTA?
Thanks

Info regarding these updates have been available in THESE FORUMS for a couple of months.
Please feel free to SEARCH the FORUM for further information.
You will get future updates. if you update with usb back up your contacts with gmail or htc sync. you will need to resetup your phone(prefs, downloads, etc). if you wait until the ota, it "should" save your setup, but im a firm believer in backing up and never take the chance for data loss for granted. If I update via Usb, will it screw up anything and will I get future updates just fine? Has anyone noticed any difference?

PCD is the manufacture of the Eris. This is the official upgrade. If you choose to do it manually this is where to download it. If you upgraded with the leak you wont get an OTA push. If there were any last minute changes, I dont know, but its there for the download now.
I think it runs a little faster and smoother. Wont really know until I get my apps reinstalled and a little burn in time.
At any rate, this is what we have until the BIG update. Dont know when it will come out.
How ever you want to do the update is up to you. Its a matter of taste. Coming from a Blackberry, Im comfortable with the usb cable.
Gmail does a good job syncing your contacts and calendar. app manager for cupcake is free in the market and will back up/restore your apps to sd card.
good luck
